Douglass alumnae and friends come together in support of our vibrant community: We move forward together because we are better together.

November 3-27, 2018

Our alumnae community is stronger when we join together. Support the Associate Alumnae of Douglass College (AADC) during this internationally recognized time of giving and help spread the word about why you give and what you love about the AADC, your alumnae organization.

The AADC is alumnae-created, alumnae-led, alumnae-driven and alumnae-supported. In other words, we are all about community and connections!  Donations from Giving Tuesday to the AADC Annual Appeal support the educational and enrichment needs of our growing alumnae sisterhood. The Annual Appeal is not on behalf of NJC, DRC, Douglass or Rutgers.

The AADC traces its roots back to 1922, when the first graduating class from the NJ College for Women established the Associate Alumnae of the New Jersey College for Women, now the Associate Alumnae of Douglass College.  Since that day, the AADC has relied on support from alumnae and friends to advance its mission. Through the AADC, you are part of a community of 37,000 alumnae and friends that leverages the talents and expertise of our powerful network.

Furthering the aspirations of each alumna strengthens the entire alumnae network and its prestige. This is why we provide signature programs, educational lectures, and traditional alumnae events as forums for alumnae to engage, connect, and grow. Our AADC’s Women’s Life-Long Learning Initiative delivers professional and personal development opportunities that support alumnae with formative experiences at every stage of life.

Giving Tuesday brings the world together to encourage philanthropy during the holiday season.  Put the alumnae sisterhood we love on your holiday giving list!

Will You be Counted among those who Made an Impact this Giving Tuesday?

WE HOPE SO! Every gift counts, regardless of size! While our financial goal is $50,000, the AADC also has a participation goal of 125 Annual Appeal donors for Giving Tuesday.

Gifts from alumnae and friends to the AADC Annual Appeal support alumnae connections to each other, our alumnae organization, and unique enrichment opportunities. To keep our alumnae sisterhood strong, please contribute today to Giving Tuesday. The Annual Appeal is on behalf of the AADC and supports the educational, social, and leadership opportunities that connect and advance Douglass alumnae. The Annual Appeal is not on behalf of NJC, DRC, Douglass or Rutgers.

THANK YOU for being a vital part of our alumnae community!

Please invite other Douglass alumnae and AADC friends to follow your lead!  You can become an ambassador for our appeal by sharing our message to your classmates, friends, and family via email or social media! Sample language is provided below:

#UNSELFIEThe #unselfie, or the selfless selfie, is a powerful way to show why giving is important to you.

What do I need to do?

  • Take a photo of yourself with a caption explaining how or why you are giving this year.
  • Use the hashtags #AADCForwardTogether, #unselfie and #GivingTuesday
  • Post it to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and/or Twitter and share with friends!
  • Tag your friends to ask them to share why they give to the AADC.

Unrestricted gifts to the AADC Annual Appeal are used to seize unique opportunities which empower and strengthen our alumnae sisterhood, to direct funding to alumnae initiatives that are of the greatest priority, and to support general operations so we can be a best-in-class alumnae organization. All gifts to the AADC will be assessed an administrative fee of five (5) or ten (10) percent, depending on the size of the gift, to be used for operational purposes.
